Hi my name is Catherine Wilks. I’m a facilitator, that is asked to help by creating spaces for real conversation where everyone's ideas matter.
I’m interested in how we learn from each other, stay curious and work with courage.
Change isn't something that happens overnight—it's about showing up, connecting, and weaving simple, meaningful rituals into our everyday lives that help us try new ways of working together.
I’m currently available for online group work.
I’m based in the UK and later in 2025 I will be living in Kuala Lumpur.
“I’m half Malaysian” has become part of vocabulary and so I am off to Kuala Lumpur to explore and learn more about what this means. You can read more about this journey here.
Team building
Relationships are everything. I enjoy designing time for people to be together without agenda, time for connection first. It has to be real. From here anything is possible. You might be interested to work with me to explore engagement, communication, problem solving or wellbeing.
Example projects have included - the CBeebies team & Wheelabrator Global team
Process facilitation
You want to get from A to B. You know where you want to go and what you want to achieve - I can help you get there. I will design and lead a process including questions, conversations, structures and experiences so that you can all participate, contribute, listen, generate and test many ideas, and make decisions to move forward.
Example projects have included- in partnership with Know & Do, in house at Designs in Mind and as part of a team at Thirty Percy
Online group work
I’ve created many online spaces for people to come together - for team building, problem solving, meetings, peer support and stakeholder engagement. The key for me is the preparation… information in advance and time to get ready - not just cramming in another zoom. I use a variety of structures to support people to be present, contribute and know what to do when they leave the online space.
Example project have included - Camerados & Thirty Percy
At the age of 16 I wrote in my careers book that I wanted to be a community dance artist. I was told this wasn’t a job. The day after I left University I started work as a freelance community dance artist and began a career collaborating across education, health, social care and business, finding movement, connection and joy.
Over time I became more fascinated with the relationship than the moves, the feeling of moving together.
I dived in to learning more about facilitation, process, dynamics, group work, community learning and listening.
Over the last 20 years my career continued to bring sectors together as Development Manager of a Dance Company, Corporate Leadership Trainer, CEO of a Mental Health organisation and Arts and Activism Lead with a Social Movement… always inviting opportunity for worlds to meet.
Today, I am a Facilitator, a Trainer and Practitioner with Jabadao and CoFounder of the SHOOPERY.
If you are looking for a Facilitator and would like to talk more please get in touch with me and we can make a plan.
Sometimes it is not possible to establish ways of working together with a group. This is my starting point that can be adapted and is open to change. Click here.
